Adult Birthday Party Games

Getting Older Theme Games- If the idea of getting older does not bother your guest of honor, then play some games with a "getting older" theme. One such game would be similar to a common game played at baby showers where the host places baby items on a tray and passes it around and then puts it away. The guests are then given 1 minute to write down everything that was on the tray.

Also, you can play it where you remove an item off of the tray and see who can tell you what is missing. A variation of this game would be to include things on the tray that a person might need when getting older.

Bunko- Bunko is always a wonderful game to play, especially if the adult birthday party consists only of female friends. A fun thing to do would be to have all the prizes be something that the birthday "girl" would enjoy and then have the winners give their prizes to the guest of honor for her birthday.

Adult Birthday Party Activities

If adult birthday party games are not on your agenda, then consider some of the following activities:

Remembering When- Contact a few guests that are extra special to the birthday person before the party and ask them to think of a special time that they spent with the guest of honor. Then during the party, have those people stand up and tell these stories about the birthday guest of honor.

You're Special, Because... Have each one of the guest of honor's children or grandchildren stand up and tell why that person is special to him or her. For example, maybe a grandchild might stand up and say, "I love my grandma because she makes cookies for me every time I go and stay with her." A daughter might get up and say, "I remember when I was little, my mom would always _______________________."

In Honor of You Poetry- Take the guest of honor's first name and come up with a poem for it like this for the name Anna:

A= always makes cookies for us
N= never has a bad word to say about anyone
N= nice to strangers
A= asks how she can help us

T-shirt Timeline- Get pictures of the birthday guest of honor at different times in their lives (birth, toddler, elementary, teenager, wedding, and a recent picture), then have these pictures transferred onto t-shirts. Let the children or the grandchildren wear these shirts to the party.

Picture Display- Display these same pictures on a table with a short description of each picture next to it. All of the guests will love looking at these. This is especially fun for the grandchildren. They love to see what grandma looked like when she was their age. Who knows? You may see some striking resemblance between generations that you have never seen before!
