It is easy to get stressed out when planning a sweet sixteen birthday party for your daughter, but it doesn't have to be that way.
Although traditional Sweet 16th birthday parties are somewhat rare these days, planning a Sweet Sixteen party can result in quite a special and popular event for your daughter and her friends. When planning this type of party there are certain things to keep in mind.
The theme of your daughter's party really depends on what her and her friends love to do.
Are they girls who love to dress up? Then have an American Idol party where everyone dresses up with makeup and all to sing karaoke to their favorite bands.
If she has a favorite sport or activity, then make THAT the theme. Let her personality determine what the party is all about. She may enjoy the planning as much as the party itself. Just have fun with it!

A cute themed birthday party cake is usually out of the question by
this age, but a beautiful cake is not. Something very elegant like a beautiful
cake with flower decorations will make a great memory
for your daughter and is sure to help her feel extra special on this
day. Mementos are so special and usually are not appreciated by the guest of honor until much later in life. Here are some 16th birthday party ideas for mementos that your daughter is sure to treasure once she is older if not before.
Photo album- This is a party that you will not want to miss taking pictures of. If you will be doing a lot during the party like serving food, then you will want to have other people in charge of taking all of the pictures. Be sure to give them a list of specific things that you want photographed so that you are not disappointed.
Set disposable cameras out on each table for the kids to take pictures with. You will be sure to get some funny pictures of your daughter's friends that she will treasure. When you develop these pictures, put them in a special little photo album or scrapbook just for her.
Special signing- Lay out 4x4" squares of white or off white material with fabric markers at each table. Have everyone sign the squares. When the party is over, sew these squares together to make your daughter a special quilt or blanket. If you don't sew or don't know of anyone who does, then you can have everyone sign a t-shirt.
If you don't want to use material, then lay out index cards for everyone to write a special note to your daughter. Include these with the photos in a special scrapbook. Don't tell your daughter what you are going to do with the papers and give it to her as a surprise soon after her party.
